Based in East Sussex, England, Herald and Heart designs men's and women's hats for just about any occasion you can think of. For more than two decades, Herald and Heart has created a wide variety of hats -- from casual caps, to high-fashion women's hats, to elegant bridal pieces, to custom hats for individual clients, to hats used in theatrical productions.
In fact, Herald and Heart got its start in London's theater and television industry. If you've ever watched "Poirot" or Four Weddings and a Funeral, you've seen Herald and Heart's designs at work!
But by 2002, the woman behind Herald and Heart's creations -- Tracey Mogard -- craved a slower pace, so she moved from the hustle and bustle of London to the much quieter East Sussex town of Rye.
At Herald and Heart, the focus is on creating one-of-a-kind combinations. They start by creating individual hats out of a multitude of fabrics and textures -- like mixing tweed and leather, for example. They also use a wide color palette, extending from lavender, to bright red, to olive green, to everything else in between.
At the same time, the team at Herald and Heart strives to design hats that will bridge the generation gap. In their own words, everyone from "the young hipster about town" to "the old geezer on the golf course" can look stylish in their creations.
